Trailer Tuesday: Shark Night 3D

bill bodkin and logan j. fowler look at the end-of-summer flick …

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? No thanks.
The trailer for Shark Night 3D left me unimpressed. First of all, when the titular shark looks faker than the great white in the original Jaws film, you sort of have a problem. Also, I was disappointed to realize that this film was going for more of a real horror feel instead of last year’s Piranha 3D, which mixed horror with comedy and camp and was a bloody (no pun intended) good time. Finally, I know there are scary PG-13 films out there, but I think Shark Night 3D should’ve gone for an R rating. It seems to me like a gore=induced bloodbath would’ve suited this film’s atmosphere better. With all that said, I won’t be taking a bite of this film. (Drum clash)

I know you must be thinking, “Oh, he wants to see this film. Yeah sure.” No, seriously I want to see this film. Nay, I must see this. Why? Because of the question the trailer asks or at least implies: How does a Great White, hammerhead, bull, etc., get in the same lake? I’m really hoping the answer comes in some sort insane rant from disillusioned and psychotic marine biologist. That’d simply be amazing. I’ll be disappointed if they try to take this movie seriously. I’m hoping the gore and the shlock is super high. Come on Shark Night — let’s do this!
