Pop-Preview: Uncomun February

the news desk previews the monthly NYC festival …

Uncomun returns to New York City tomorrow, Feb. 9, at DROM on 85 Avenue A.

This month’s event will center around the release of Get Up Get Down, the new album from the show’s curators Loud Apt. The album features vintage and brand spanking new tracks of heavy funk, grooviness and spirit stirring awesomeness.

Uncomun is an artist collaborative featuring live music, film, art, dance, DJ sets, VJ sets and literature. It’s an event that celebrates the New York artist, the “uncommon” artist, the artist that thrives on creativity and originality.

The event will also feature internationally renowned songstress Maya Azucena, who also curates the monthly event as well as a guest spot from longtime Loud Apt. collaborator Bernie Worrell of the legendary P-Funk. DJ Center and VJ Carlo will also be on-hand.

Tickets are $10. Doors open at 9 p.m.
