the newsdesk previews a great show at the lanes…

The Asbury Lanes has been home to some seriously awesome bands this year and this Wednesday, October 10, the bowling alley/bar/rock club will be hosting the West Coast rock outfit, The Growlers.

The Growlers, who are returning to Asbury after a jam packed outdoor gig at Max Fish at Beach Bar this summer, are an absolutely fantastic band that blends that sweet 60s psychedelic sound, reverb and effects and surf rock to present a sound they’ve dubbed “Beach Goth.” It has a tremendous groove to it that’ll have you moving with infectious abandonThe band has performed at Coachella and have opened for Dr. Dog, Devendra Banhart, Julian Casablancas and Night Beats.

Along with The Growlers will be…

Denney & The Jets — “a an unbridled brand of hip-shakin’ Rock & Roll with heavy Soul and Country influences. The Nashville, TN-based band is steeped in its hometown’s institution of Country Music as much as it is a part of the new wave of young Nashville Rock bands.”

Also on the bill are The Grand K and Chance Blak.

This is an all ages show where tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. You can purchase them here or at The Asbury Lanes the day of the show.
