Pop-Preview: Bumbloods – Episode 1

the newsdesk looks at a great new online comedy…

Pop-Break is proud to present to its audience, the zombie comedy Bumbloods. We were presented the first episode of the series last week and we absolutely love it, so we’re thrilled to share it with you.

When a new, synthetic drug hits the streets, 90% of the human population is suddenly transformed into flesh eating zombies. Dr. Jeremy “JERMS” Madison (Matthew Wise) and his roommate Mario “KREPE” Krepeli (Joe Bandelli) find themselves in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and this “odd couple” must learn to cohabitate despite their differences and the ever growing horde of undead around them.

Getting to know the characters of Bumbloods

1. Dr. Jeremy “JERMS” Madison:

Born and raised in Peoria, Illinois. He is currently doing his residency at Beth Israel Memorial Hospital. He’s been working in the ER for a little over a year, and thinks he’s seen the worst of what can happen to people. Time will prove him wrong. He moved to New York City with his longtime girlfriend, Grace. They don’t live together, though. Not until he puts a ring on her finger. Jerms met his future roommate, Steve, while treating him for dehydration after he partied a little too hard at a rave. At the time, Jerms was couch hopping, but soon after, moved in with Steve. There turned out to a third roommate, Mario ”KREPE” Krepeli. Needless to say, their lifestyles clash. Jerms does his best to spend as little time around Krepe as possible. He has been considering moving out for months, but doesn’t want to let down his roommates.

Likes: The smell of fresh laundry, watching reruns of Rescue 911, the musical stylings of Hall and Oates.

Dislikes: Sleeping in, people who talk in the third person, flip flops.

Heroes: Dr. Jonathan Letterman, Dr. Peter Venkman, and John Rambo

2. Mario “KREPE” Krepeli

Born in Gainsville, Florida but raised all over the country, Krepe eventually ended up in New York where he attended Fordham University and created his own major of Taste Testing. He is the only child of a surgeon and a litigator, yet was often left alone, disabling him from having any relationship with anyone in his life (friendship or intimate). He is the true definition of a loner, addicted to video games and pornography (magazines, not that internet junk). He met his roommate Steve, while searching for an apartment on Craig’s List. When Steve realized that the two could not afford the apartment, Dr. Jeremy “JERMS” Madison moved in to pick up the slack. Krepe doesn’t have any issues with his roommates because he simply lacks any motivation to care about anything or anyone, but once again, time could change that.

Likes: Cap’n Crunch, Peanut Based Products, and 1983 Topps Baseball Cards (with the stale piece of gum inside).

Dislikes: Restriction, short hair, and drugs.

Heroes: Enrique Iglesias, Hayden Panettiere, and Fab Morvan (the darker guy from Milli Vanilli).

3. Bumblood

Each Bumblood has it’s own background and story, but since their transformation, they all share one goal…To EAT THE FLESH FROM YOUR BONES. As far as long term goals go, it seems attainable.

Likes: Munching on your innards, rotting in the summer sun, and turning defenseless babies into human hungry zombies.

Dislikes: Blunt force trauma to the brain, use of basic motor skills, and Tim Tebow.
