There have been many concerts and events that have benefitted the victims of Hurricane Sandy. From the famed 12.12.12 concert to the original band showcase at your local pub, everyone has been doing their part to help out their neighborhood — and all through the power of music.
However, for the Jersey Shore, the definitive concert, the one that everyone was talking about and the one concert people will be talking about for years and even decades to come, took place on Wednesday, January 2nd.
The “On the Beach” Benefit Concert, which took place on the grand stage of Asbury Park’s Convention Hall, featured music performances from local faves River City Extension, Nicole Atkins and The Tangiers Blues; Asbury’s newest beloved celebrity son Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem, saged music vets Joseph Arthur, Steve Earle and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and rock ‘n’ roll heroes, My Morning Jacket. The event was hosted by Jersey native, former FM 106 and 101.9 RXP DJ and MTV personality Matt Pinfield.
