WARM-BODIES-1

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent (but possibly theater). There’s something charming about what I’ve seen in the trailers for Warm Bodies. This reverse tale of a zombie turning into a human is creative enough to take a genre that has been exploited in the past couple of years and turn it on its head. While I can’t imagine it’s going to break any ground, the film looks just like a fun time, and my interest in it is high enough that I may go for a theater run on this one. We’ll see what the masses say about this one when it hits, helping me to solidify my decision. –LJF

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Theater.
In the grand tradition of Shaun of Dead and Zombieland, comes Warm Bodies. What I’m hoping here is that Warm Bodies actually does continue the tradition/example set by these two films — being a clever blend of comedy, horror and action. The film has a unique take on the zombie narrative — through the power of love, zombies are starting to come back to life. It’s like an undead Romeo and Juliet (Nicholas Hault and Teresa Palmer), with John Malkovich’s millitant dad objecting his daughter’s romance with the undead. But instead of Tibault and Mercutio, there’s a horde of ravenous super zombies who wants to kill humans and zombies. This movie could be a really fun movie and I think the unique spin on the classic zombie storyline is enough to get me in the cineplex.–BB
