In a special edition of Trailer Tuesday, television columnists Kimberlee Rossi-Fuchs (who covered GOT last season as well as Louie and Boardwalk Empire) and Luke Kalamar (current The Walking Dead and The Following writer) look ahead to Game of Thrones Season 3, which they’ll be covering for Pop-Break.

Kimberlee Rossi-Fuchs: A Storm of Swords, the basis for this season Game of Thrones, is my hands-down favorite installment of the Song of Ice and Fire series and I’ve been looking forward to season three long before the start of season two. Judging from this trailer, it looks to be worth the wait. Since we last left Westeros, Tyrion’s been disfigured and deposed, Jon Snow’s joined the ranks of the Wildlings, Danerys’ dragons have hit a growth spurt, and Joffrey’s still a dick. While it’s great to see a lot of the book’s major moments briefly teased here, I’m actually kind of jealous of all the newbies who are going into this season fresh because – trust me – shit’s about to get real and I CAN’T WAIT to discuss and hear some of your reactions to the season’s events. Dragons, bitches!

Luke Kalamar: To say I’m excited for this new season of Game of Thrones is a complete understatement. Even though I’m relatively new to this fantastic show (I recently got Season 1 on DVD for Christmas and watched Season 2 thanks to my girlfriend’s HBO account), my excitement is boundless. I’ve watched this trailer so many times I’ve lost count and the song keeps getting stuck in my head. I recently bought the first book too and am extremely eager to read it. So yes, I loved this trailer and can’t wait to watch everything unfold. I keep hearing how the third book, A Storm of Swords, is the best one to date as well. Considering how the show as done a great job following the book series with one season per novel, Season 3 should be amazing. If anything, at least we get Thoros of Myr and his flaming sword!
