Former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted brought his new band, aptly named Newsted to The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, N.J. on Thursday May 23rd.

Newsted played all the songs off their new EP Metal as well as cuts from their upcoming full-length album and of course, some select covers including Metallica’s “Whiplash” and Motorhead’s “We Are the Road Crew.”

Jason Newsted seemed to be having the time of his life, soaking in the love from the crowd at The Pony. You can tell that every fist in the air, every cheer, every clap really meant something to him. And since this was the last night of the band’s warm up tour, the band really brought it and left their hearts on the Pony’s stage.
