Notable Openings This Weekend: The Best Man Holiday

9 Random Facts About 'The Best Man Holiday' Cast

I have been waiting to break down this weekend’s box office for months. The Best Man Holiday finally comes to theaters! No, I’m not excited for the actual movie, I’m excited because I can no longer stand all the advertisements for this film. Seriously, is it just me, or has this movie been flooded every where? I feel like I’ve been seeing trailers for nine months. But it’s finally here…and will promptly be crushed by Thor. Let’s break it down.

While sandwiched in between the two little films that could (Thor and Hunger Games), The Best Man Holiday should fare okay. It’s got a lot of likable names (Terrence Howard, Morris Chestnut, Taye Diggs, Regina Hall), and this is one of those instances where counter programming will work. There’s definitely a sizable audience for this genre. Still though, the God of Thunder really caught a break for its second weekend.

How Will It All Break Down…

Asgard will be celebrating another #1 finish with a not that bad of a drop-off. Seriously though, this weekend is just the calm before the storm next week. Also, not that anyone cares, but the battle for third place between Bad Grandpa, Free Birds, and Last Vegas will be a tight one. I’m sure this will be trending on Twitter all weekend…
