TV Recap: American Horror Story: Coven, ‘Go to Hell’

I don’t know about you guys, but all of this gore and violence happening on American Horror Story: Coven makes me all tingly inside. Between last week’s episode, “Protect the Coven” and this week, “Go to Hell,” I am getting my fill of blood and fun.

Everyone I spoke to about last week’s episode said they covered their eyes when Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) went a little crazy on herself. I cannot say what happened, as this is spoiler free and some people still haven’t seen last week. Get on that, folks! You’re missing out!

Tonight, you won’t be able to move fast enough to cover your eyes. Even when you expect it, you cannot predict that exact moment it is going to happen. When you think it will, it won’t. When you think it won’t, it will. I will just say, keep something nearby the hold onto.

If you are squeamish or unable to handle extreme violence, watch this week with caution. This is not for the faint.

Tonight, we learn exactly what the Seven Wonders are. They are seven powers a witch must possess and they must complete a trial with each one. Fiona (Jessica Lange) is insisting each witch test for Supreme. What are her motives?

Cordelia is trying to find her second sight again. As with most times when things are lost, it’s when you stop looking that you find it.

Side note: Cordelia goes from looking like Emily from The Beyond to a C.H.U.D.

Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe) goes looking for Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett) when she is noticed missing. Missing along with her is Madame LaLaurie (Kathy Bates). Where one is and where one ends up are one and the same.

Two witches return to the coven. One is not happy about the circumstances of her death and takes a hysterical, and well-deserved, revenge on the guilty.

Someone dies tonight. Technically, I suppose three die and they are all extremely bloody. As I said before, do not watch if you cannot handle the violence. This is worse than last week or, if you’re me, better than last week.

Next week is the end. We will finally learn who Supreme is and, hopefully, someone else who desperately deserves it will die. Rumor has it, Glenn Close will be on next week, playing Ophelia. Fatal Attraction fans rejoice!

My prediction is that Supreme will be Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) or they will pull an ending like Buffy the Vampire Slayer where there isn’t one Supreme, they all are. I hope it isn’t as clean cut and predictable as either, however, I cannot say I would be too disappointed to see Zoe take reign as she is the only one I believe would use the powers for good. I guess we will see soon enough. In the meantime, keep a pillow close. You’ll need it to shield your eyes.
