Pre-Trailer Thoughts: Muppets are back on the big screen? I’m there! — LJF | Oh boy. As a lifelong Muppets fan I was so disappointed in the gang’s return to the big screen a few years ago. I feel very trepidatious about this. –BB

Rate the Trailer (1-5): Three out of five. The trailer provides a few chuckles here and there, but feels like there is something missing, magically speaking. –LJF

Rate the Trailer (1-5): Three out of five. The trailer actually assuaged my fears a bit, I thought it gives me hope that the movie is bringing back the smart humor the older movies were known for. Also, the cameos in this looked pretty great. –BB

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Theater. Being the go to Muppet guy for Pop-Beak, I claimed the review for Muppets Most Wanted as soon as it was up in the air. However, with the absence of Jason Segel, who was behind The Muppets, I sense a less than promising follow up. In addition, I love Tina Fey, Ty Burrell, and Ricky Gervais (among all the other cameos promised), but can they help the Muppet cinematic boat stay afloat? I guess I’ll find out opening weekend. –LJF

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Undecided. On one hand I love The Muppets, I grew up on them, they helped shaped my life. Fozzy Bear is my spirit animal for Pete’s sake! Yet, the 2011 version of The Muppets just really let down. The cameos were forced and unfunny for the most part, the mood was a little too “aww shucks” and saccharine sweet. The bite and wit of the original Muppets’ movies was gone for a “We’re just happy to be back!” feeling. I have a feeling this film might return to form, but I’m really gun shy about seeing this in the movies. –BB
