Pop-Break Live: Pop-Break’s Five-Year Anniversary Party

The Clydes

I’ve been a fan of The Clydes for a long time and I’ve done a lot of work with them. I’ve gotten them booked and booked them myself, I’ve designed their posters, I’ve snapped their press shots, and I helped create the artwork for their last record.

So when I say the following, please trust me.

Their Friday night performance was one of the tightest, most focused, and most electric performances they’ve given in their three years together. The addition of new drummer MadMardigan has really changed the dynamic of the band and guitarist Brian Johnson continues to impress with his fretwork. And of course, the golden pipes of Pop-Break co-founder Brent Johnson and the low-end antics of bassist Andrew Lord Chandler don’t hurt, either. They also played a string of stellar songs from the new full-length album they’re currently recording.

Setlist:

Nerve Damage
The Steam
Hiding From The Summer
Savvy Row
Afternoon Sweat
Mother’s Keeper
The Fate Of California
