Pop-Press: River City Extension Drops a New Single

RCE-Deliverance

River City Extension – Release “Something’s Gotta Give” the new single off their new record, Deliverance, which drops on March 10, 2015.

River City Extension is back and we’re not hiding our excitement. This is a must-listen band. If you haven’t checked them out, you’re only doing yourself a disservice. The band has this magic about them. Their lives show are absolutely amazing – it drips with heart, soul and excitement. Their 2012 sophomore release, Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Your Anger was one my personal favorite records of 2012. It is an absolutely majestic record that really moves the soul. The songs just grab you by the heart and bring you on a wonderfully passionate sonic journey as told through the magnificent vocals of lead singer, Joe Michelini.

According to the press release, Michelini was heavily influenced by Ayn Rand during the writing of the band’s upcoming record Deliverance. Much of the record was informed by her thoughts on morality and productive work, as Michelini applied these to his search for identity within the music industry and as an artist. The songs weigh the importance of staying true to oneself within the complexities of the modern world. Deliverance was produced, engineered and mixed by Pat Noon over 14 days in a vacant ski-lodge in the Poconos.

The new record features the new RCE line-up of: John Muccino (guitars/vocals/strings), Patrick O’Brien (keyboards, vocals), Josh Gilman (bass) and Steve Tambone (drums).

The band will return to the Stone Pony for their annual Simple Gifts show (featuring gods, Ed Tang & The Chops and Prehistoric Forest), click here for tickets.
