Since the late 1980’s, Todd McFarlane has been a superstar in comic book culture. He was the first artist to draw Eddie Brock/Venom in David Michelinie‘s run of Amazing Spider-Man. He was one of the seven popular freelance artists who left Marvel Comics to start Image Comics, which is now the third biggest comic book publisher in the country. He also created Spawn and has since revolutionized the collectible toy industry by introducing action figures with incredible amounts of articulation. It an understatement to say Todd McFarlane is without a doubt one of the most iconic figures in the industry.

While at New York Comic Con, I stopped by the McFarlane Toys booth to talk with the comic book legend himself, Todd McFarlane. We spoke about his brand new Walking Dead Building Sets (available exclusively at Toys R Us) and the return of the original Spawn, Al Simmons, in the upcoming Spawn #250. He also talks about the future of Spawn, the new writing team, and what fans can expect from the new series, Spawn: Resurrection.
