1. Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991)
This gets the #1 spot simply because I can definitively say it was better than the original. In my humble opinion, this is the comedy sequel that actually bested the first movie and did something totally original. Instead of doing another time travel movie, they went to Heaven and Hell. This poor movie came out well before its time, and I’m so glad its found a place among the other cult classics of the nineties. It may not have been the funniest movie ever made, but it’s certainly one of the most creative ones. There’s just an energy to this film that can’t be beaten. The Grim Reaper (William Sadler). The Evil Robot Bill and Ted. Station! While the end falters a little, I appreciated the big ideas they had. I know Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are still pushing for a third Bill & Ted, and I hope it happens. That’s one comedic sequel I’d actually want to see. The world needs more “WYLD STALLYNS!”
