Bold Box Office Predictions: The Pyramid Is Gonna Tank

Notable Openings This Weekend: The Pyramid

The Pyramid opens this weekend. Um…I got nothing. Here are some facts about Pyramids: World 2 from Super Mario Brothers 3 has some great pyramids, they were used as a major plot device in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and with Exodus: Gods and Kings opening next weekend, that marks two wide release movies in back to back weeks where pyramids will be featured heavily in a motion picture. Let’s just get this over with.

I don’t know anything about this movie. I think I saw one preview for it. There are no stars. It won’t do very well. If anyone disagrees and thinks this will be the biggest hit of the season, feel free to write in the comment section below.

It’s ironic that with movie release dates in such high demand, especially during the summer and holiday season, you got to think the studios were asleep at the wheel on this one. Seriously, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part I has already been out two weeks, and it’s not like you got a behemoth opening next weekend. This would have been a great time to release Horrible Bosses 2 or something. Seems like a missed opportunity. I don’t know what to tell you. Stay home and watch the Star Wars trailer.

HOW WILL IT ALL BREAK DOWN…

The Identical makes a surprising return to the top ten and takes the #1 spot. And by The Identical, I mean The Hunger Games finishes on top for the third week in a row by default.

  • The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part I — $32 Million
  • Penguins of Madagascar — $14 Million
  • Big Hero 6 — $11.5 Million
  • Interstellar — $10.5 Million
  • The Pyramid — $7.5 Million
