4. How to Get Away with Murder
Over the last few years, Shonda Rhimes has wowwed viewers with Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy, so it’s no surprise the new program from her production company is the most memorable show of the fall TV season. As great as the show was in bringing the tension and suspense, it probably wouldn’t even be so well-adored if it weren’t for Viola Davis. She commands her character Annalise Keating in such a powerful, distinct way that it’s hard to not feel moved by her performance each and every Thursday night. Also, let’s be real, “Why is your penis on a dead girl’s phone?” is definitely the most memorable 9 words ever spoken by a primetime television character. Read our review of the series premiere here.
