THE “MOVIE I THOUGHT WAS GOING TO BE THE END OF ME, BUT IT TURNED OUT TO BE OKAY” AWARD:
Transformers: Age of Extinction
I have a lot to say here. Every time I write about the fact that I liked Transformers: Age of Extinction, I always have to make the following very clear: I hate the first three films. Again, I hate the first three Transformer films. Now that we got that out of the way, back to this film. If you didn’t like Age of Extinction, I totally get it. There is no way I’m going to argue with you. What has been pissing me off though is the over reaction. I’ve listened to people talk about how it’s as bad as the second movie. What?! Excuse me! To put Age of Extinction on the level of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is an absurd and hyperbolic statement if I’ve ever heard one. As someone who detests Michael Bay and in particular the Transformers franchise, this movie is perfectly fine. Again, if you didn’t like it I totally get it. But to even compare it in the slightest to the abomination that is Revenge of the Fallen is the most knee jerk reaction I’ve seen since Trent Dilfer proclaimed the New England Patriots to “not be good anymore” after week four of the NFL season.
