This will be the superhero movie that pisses everybody off, yet I’m excited. I love that Fox refuses to show anything about this movie until they’re good and ready. In a film blog society where the lemmings crave information every single minute, the fact that this film chooses to not give a shit brings a tear of joy to my eye. I love it. Everything I read about this film just gets me amped up. It definitely sounds like the more serious approach to superhero filmmaking. The talent involved is also insane. We got Simon Kinberg as a co-screenwriter (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Josh Trank in the directing chair (Chronicle), and an all out stellar cast. If you’re diehard Fantastic Four fan, I can understand the trepidation. This will definitely not be the Fantastic Four you remember. Being a Batman fan, I understand Batman Returns isn’t the most accurate depiction of those characters, but I can still appreciate the great movie that it is. We may get something similar with this film. Everyone right now is treating this film as the ultimate joke and projecting failure. I’m telling you right now, this movie will further divide the superhero community. There will be a segment of people like me who will love it to death, and a segment of people who will want to burn every copy to the ground. Either way, this will not be a film that just comes and goes. This will have a divisive reaction, and I can’t wait to see it unfold.
