“Looking for the Promised Land” Plot:

Last season’s final threads take a step forward as our three protagonists embark on a weekend trip together in the Looking season premiere.

The season two premiere of Looking is finally here! I can’t say I waited too long for this, since I only binged this show last month, but that in no way hampered my excitement.

Patrick (Jonathan Groff), Dom (Murray Bartlett) and Agustín (Frankie J. Alvarez) head off for a weekend at Lynn’s (Scott Bakula) house. Patrick wants them all to make a pact to not get wasted, like that’ll end well. Patrick is worried about Agustín – but how worried does he need to be?

Dom puts it well, “If we can’t play nice, we’re going home.” Patrick claims the weekend is necessary – but why exactly is that? What’s the deal with him and Kevin (Russell Tovey)? With Richie (Raúl Castillo)?

Patrick later asks Dom in the episode, “Do you ever do things that surprise you?” It’s pretty clear he hasn’t told Dom or Agustín what’s been going on exactly.

Doris (Lauren Weedman) arrives and the gang ends up following a “fairy” – rather, man dolled up like a fairy through the woods. This felt like a strange episode of True Blood for second, frankly.

They end up taking Molly and heading to some kind of dance extravaganza. We really get to see this world through Patrick’s eyes. He starts to feel it and ends up kissing a stranger.

Dom gets intimate with a man that’s not Lynn, and Agustín gets naked in the water with another. Patrick makes a call to someone, but who could it be? IT’S KEVIN. Aaaand the two sleep together, again.

I guess this makes Patrick saying, “There’s more to life than sex you know,” earlier in the episode a bit ironic, don’t you think?

Patrick comes clean to Dom and Agustín about Kevin come the episode’s close, and insists they all “watch the sunrise and pretend that everything’s gonna turn out fine.”

Something tells me it won’t exactly, since this is a TV show, after all, but I’m interested in seeing where this goes.
