Mike Carbo’s Big Apple Con – March 7th – Penn Plaza Pavilion – 401 7th Ave @ 33rd St., NYC – 10am-6pm

New York City’s very own Big Apple Con is set to return this upcoming Saturday March 7, 2015 at Penn Pavilion Plaza for a full day extravaganza celebrating the very best in comic book and pop culture.

Founded in 1995, Mike Carbo’s Big Apple Con proudly proclaims itself as New York City’s longest running convention and will feature a number of high profile celebrity guests and world-class artists. All attendees will be able to fully submerge themselves in cosplay contests and guest panels celebrating everything from Spider-Man to Star Wars.

BIG APPLE CON proudly hosts a full “Artists Alley” of comic book, animation, and trading card creators, illustrators & writers, including: Rich Buckler (Deathlok, Fantastic Four), James O’Barr (The Crow), Mark Bode (Cobalt 60, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Herb Trimpe (Incredible Hulk, Wolverine), Ramona Fradon (Super Friends, Aquaman), Larry Hama (G.I. Joe, Bucky O’Hare), Basil Gogos (Famous Monsters of Filmland), Bill Tucci (Shi, Sgt. Rock), Bob Rozakis (‘Mazing Man, Joker’s Daughter), Bill Plympton (the “King of Indie Animation”), Bob Camp (Ren & Stimpy, ThunderCats), Tom DeFalco (Thor, Spider-Girl), Danny Fingeroth (Spider-Man, Daredevil), Jim Salicrup (Avengers, Papercutz), Sean Chen (Iron Man, Valiant Comics), Jamal Igle (Molly Danger, Green Lantern), Rodney Ramos (Punisher War Journal, Transmetropolitan), and Brian Kong (Upper Deck, MLB, NBA, NFL).

The headlining media celebrity guests include: Pro Wrestlers “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, and Brimstone, Power Rangers Jason David Frank and Steve Cardenas, The Walking Dead’s Chris Harrelson, Moses Moseley and Theshay West, Paris Themmen (Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Star Trek: Voyager), GinaMarie Zimmerman (Big Brother), Johnny Brennan (Jerky Boys, Family Guy), John Altamura (Toxic Avenger 2 & 3), and Mike Zapic, Ming Chen & Robert Bruce from AMC’s Comic Book Men.

Personally speaking, I’m looking forward to seeing Jason David Frank and Steve Cardenas from Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. Both guests will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their classic film and New York City’s mightiest are highly anticipating their appearance. For any classic wrestling fans, WWE Legends “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Jake “The Snake” Roberts will also be signing autographs.

In keeping with the spirit of New York City, panels including “Comics – The Big Apple Generation” will spotlight artists and storylines based out of the world’s greatest city. Other events including “Zombification” will allow guests to summon their inner zombie as professional makeup artist Action Vance hosts his very own zombie panel.

Tickets are still available and could be purchased online at  www.nycb.com or at the door for $20. Tickets for children ages 10 and under will be sold for $10 and tickets for children ages 4 and under will be free. For further information, be sure to check out  www.nycb.com for the full guest list, autograph signings, and set times for the panels.
