Pre-Trailer Thoughts: The wonderful and charming short film by a French guy gets a feature length cinematic adventure. The only way you could get me to see an Adam Sandler movie these days is if you toss video game characters into it or have Peter Dinklage rocking a mullet within the Sandler saga. Thankfully, this movie has both! -LJF

Pre-Trailer Thoughts: I remember the short that this was based on and I remember hearing it got optioned for a feature film and thinking “Well that might be fun.” It seemed a lot like that episode of Futurama when video games attack but still, I was in. I liked the casting enough. Seems like Adam Sandler is due for a hit and everyone loves Gad and Dinklage. Should be good.-MK

Rate the Trailer:Four out of five. Sandler and Kevin James are the only reason a point were deducted here. Everything else made me giddy. Seeing a larger than life Pac-Man bite down on his creator’s (fictional actor, but still) hand had me rolling. Any sight of video game characters causing destruction made me giddy. I don’t expect this to be Wreck-It Ralph level of quality, but I do like how video game films are based on video games anymore, but around them. This is a good direction and Pixels looks like it just want to have a good time with the content. Fine with me. –LJF

Rate the Trailer: Four out of Five Really impressed. First off, this trailer has a bunch of exposition in it. It feels like a parody of a Transformers trailer. Once that’s over, things really get good. The pixel effects are stunning and I cannot wait to see them in 3D. The spotlight isn’t really on Sandler and the rest of the good guy team. I don’t think we saw Dinklage more than once or twice. The trailer also didn’t give away the fact that IMDB has Kevin James listed as playing PRESIDENT Will Cooper. That’s right. This is Paul Blart: Commander in Chief. That’s gonna be worth seeing. Also in case anyone is wondering, that is not the real Professor Iwatani. –MK

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Theater. I already put in my request to review this for the site. I can’t say that the movie is going to be wonderful, but I can’t imagine I won’t be entertained by it in some shape or form. It has old school video game characters causing mayhem on the streets of New York. Disaster movies have had their time and fallen by the wayside, but this one puts a whole new spin on it. Honestly, I kind of can’t wait. –LJF

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Theater. Like I said, the 3D seems like it’s gonna be really excellent. Since That’s My Boy, I’ve had a soft spot for Adam Sandler. The guy can’t catch a break recently and this looks like it could start his comeback. -MK
