The Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum hard rock band, Disturbed, has returned by announcing that their new album, Immortalized, will be released on August 21. After a four year hiatus, Disturbed has decided to come together to release their album, under Reprise Records.

“We wanted to return when we collectively had that fire underneath us. We missed it so much that we could tap into this energy and deliver the right album. We did it on our own terms,” Dan Donegan, the guitarist in the four-man band. Their lead single, “The Vengeful One,” an instant hit, is out now, along with the an animated video, directed by award-winning director, Phil Mucci.

After their 2010 album, Asylum, Disturbed’s fourth consecutive #1 on the Billboard Top 200 list, the band has come back in full form for yet another treat for their fans. “The idea was to leave when we were at our peak, which we were, and to come back when we felt reinvigorated,” said David Draiman, the main vocal in the band, in a press release.

Draiman, Donegan, and Mike Wengren, the drummer in the band, met for dinner in Chicago, in January of 2014, to decide to start Immortalized. They went to their respective home studios, alongside producer Kevin Churko, to write and start their upcoming album.

“I think the fans will feel like it was worth the wait,” says Donegan in the same release. “We’ve been planning this for the past year and keeping it a secret so we can’t wait to hear the response. I hope fans realize we have a lot more left in us. This album reassured me of that. To be away from it for almost five years, get back in a room, write together, and tap into that fire is awesome. Part of me didn’t want to leave the studio. We still have a lot more to say. We still have a lot more to do. We’re returning stronger than ever. I think Immortalized shows that.”
