Major details about the upcoming live-action Riverdale series were announced today at Comic Con. Riverdale, based on the classic Archie comic book characters, is a one-hour drama that was originally developed for Fox. All of the iconic characters will be back including Archie, Veronica, Betty and even the Pussycat Dolls.

But according to Jon Goldwater, Archie comics CEO and publisher, Riverdale is a better fit with The CW network saying, “the CW is perfect for the vibe and tone of the Riverdale series. We couldn’t be in better hands. Working with WB, Greg Berlanti and having Roberto involved has made this a dream project come to life. This is a major, major thing for this company.” Greg Berlanti currently produces The Flash and Arrow.
