The Official SPECTRE Trailer Has Arrived

The SPECTRE trailer has officially arrived.

Earlier this year, we were treated to a thrilling teaser for the 25th James Bond film.

(Editor’s Note: Okay, technically this is the 24th Bond film. Eon Productions, the head production team of Bond since the beginning, was not involved in the making of 1983’s Never Say Never Again. Hence, that film is not considered an official James Bond film).

Earlier this morning, the official trailer for the new James Bond film dropped, and we were finally given insight on what this film is truly about.

James Bond continues his hunt for the mysterious organization that has been reeking havoc in the background of the past three Daniel Craig-starring films. As the title of the film suggests SPECTRE, a shadowy organization, is behind all of this.

Longtime Bond fans already know that SPECTRE (an acronym for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion) is a global terrorist organization led by all-time Bond villain, Ernst Stavro Blofeld. The organization has been hinted at in all of Daniel Craig’s Bond films, but has not been a formal villain since 1971’s Diamonds are Forever.

Now, they are back. We are presented two of the organization’s faces — former pro wrestler Dave Bautista as Mr. Hinx, and two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz as the mysterious Franz Oberhauser — the author of all Bond’s pain.

The Bond girls in this film will be Monica Bellucci, who American audiences will remember from Matrix Revolutions, and L̩a Seydoux, who had brief pop-ups in Inglorious Basterds, and Mission: Impossible РGhost Protocol.

The film will also see the return of Ralph Fiennes as M, Ben Whishaw as Q and Naomie Harris as Ms. Moneypenny. And of course, it will be directed by Sam Mendes, who so brilliant helmed Skyfall.

SPECTRE hits cinemas on November 6.
