Gary Clark Jr. & Lenny Kravitz Rock Afropunk Festival Day 2

Afropunk-Festival-Lineup

Pop-Break Live: Afropunk Festival Day 2

It was a festival filled with beautiful people and one of the most diverse line-ups we’ve experienced all summer-long. Brooklyn’s Commodore Barry Park was packed, as day one of the 2015 Afropunk Festival raged on. It was a gathering of punk, rock, funk, soul, and R&B blended into one vibrant, and kinetic day of music.

For those naive to the concept of the festival, it is and we quote — “The word AFROPUNK itself has become synonymous with open minded, nonconforming and unconventional, placing the institution at the epicenter of urban culture inspired by alternative music.”

The second day of the festival was headlined by two of the best guitar heroes of the modern day. The utterly brilliant Gary Clark, Jr. melted faces with his Austin, Texas-inspired guitar work. (As a PSA check out his appearance on The Foo Fighters’ HBO series Sonic Highways. It will make you an immediate fan.) Then there was Lenny Kravitz. No matter the year, we’re always going to go Lenny’s way. The man is an ageless wondering who still captivates audiences with his fusion of funk, soul, and rock ‘n’ roll.

Pop-Break’s Saidy Lopez caught the first day’s performances and all the beautiful concertgoers, for Pop-Break.com
