Pre-Trailer Thoughts: I’ve always enjoyed the movies involving Peter Pan. Whether it be the animated Disney classic, Hook, or Finding Neverland, there’s been something interesting to watch. However, Pan tries to take the story in a direction almost like a reboot, devoid of what we all know already. –LJF

Pre-Trailer Thoughts: I have really not been impressed with what I’ve seen of this film so far, with everything reminding me of Spielberg’s Hook, and I really hated Hook. It would take a lot to ‘wow’ me at this point, but there’s still a chance this trailer could sway my opinion on this adaptation. – JTM

Rate the Trailer: 1 out of 5. Despite some nice effects, there’s really nothing here that works for me. It’s a shame, cause the cast is solid. The attempt to bring the character of Peter back to the beginning in a retelling is an idea that could totally backfire. Not feeling anything from this trailer. –LJF

Rate the Trailer: 1 out of 5. This entire film looks like a recipe for disaster. Let’s start with Hugh Jackman, who seems to be trying to compensate for his terribly cliche lines about prophecies and chosen-ones by overacting as much as possible. Rooney Mara looks absolutely ridiculous wearing a massive, garish looking headdress that doesn’t help the controversy over the casting of a white actress in the role of a Native American character. Levi Miller as Peter Pan doesn’t impress much either, and strangely the trailer gives off the impression that he is shoved to the sides of the story to make room for Jackman, Mara and Garrett Hedlund as Captain Hook. The whole trailer is a sensory overload in the worst possible way, showing off a film where it looks like they tried to fit every possible idea they had onscreen at once. Somewhere along the production process somebody needed to speak up and question why a Peter Pan origin story needed to be so complex, and it’s clear nobody ever did. – JTM

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? No Thanks. Pan looks uneventful and bland. I will be skipping this one. –LJF

Theater, Rent, Undecided, No Thanks? No Thanks. Honestly I feel bad for saying how much I disliked Hook earlier, it does have its merits and certainly looks better than this monstrosity of a CGI-fest. Instant-skip for me. – JTM
