Game of Thrones Season 5 Poster.

New York Comic Con’s first day sounded off with a bang! With some extremely popular and busy panels taking place throughout the day, fans everywhere united in particular for one of the most popular panels of the weekend: Game of Thrones. While the panel had a lot of small talk and jokes among the three cast members in attendance (Natalie Dormer, Finn Jones, and Keisha Castle-Hughes), some major spoilers and speculation were dropped our way, despite them trying to stay as hush-hush as possible. We got a sneak peek into what the future may hold for the Tyrell’s, some speculation on who may take the Iron Throne, and just what exactly is that connection between Margaery Tyrell and Kermit the Frog’s new girlfriend.

Here is a run down on some important need to know tidbits from Game of Thrones: A Panel of Ice and Fire. *** Warning spoilers below***

A Walk to Remember…

While all Game of Thrones fans know of the infamous walk of shame Cersei (Lena Headey) had to endure last season as her punishment for her sins, it looks like Margery may not be so far behind her on that walk.

When a fan asked how Margaery would handle a similar situation, Dormer simply smiled and said, “We’re in dangerous territory for the next season if I talk about that.” She refused to say anything more.

Keep in mind that absolutely nothing is confirmed, but sometimes not saying something speaks volumes. It looks like this aspiring powerhouse might get her turn with the bell wielding shame nun.

Will Margaery Become Queen?

Margaery Tyrell is best known for scheming her way into the Red Keep. In many ways, she exactly like her new mother-in-law Cersei. However, when asked if her character wanted to sit on the Iron Throne, Dormer was quick to reject the notion.

“I genuinely don’t believe Margaery wants to be Queen,” the star said. “It’s much safer to be the power behind the throne.”

Finn Jones, who played Dormer’s television brother Loras, seemed to like the idea though.

“I think a woman will sit on the Iron Throne someday,” said Jones to a cheering audience.

Why Jon Snow?!

While this is still a painful one among fans, it’s also a potent one among the cast. When asked with who they would want back from the dead, they all gave varied answers, but it looked like Jones knew exactly who the fans wanted. When the question was directed at him, he got the audience to answer in unison, “JON SNOW!!!” with a loud and boisterous response that shook the entire room.

However, while Jones was a bit “surprised” that out of everyone, it is Jon Snow they want back, one fan did scream out, “Ned Stark!” which caused Jones to joke, “Ned Stark wins then.”

Finn Jones is a Master at Theories

When asked what he thought would ultimately be the ending for the series and who would rule the Iron Throne, Jones gave one hell of an answer.

“Basically I think there will be a big battle between Ice and Fire,” he said. “My theory is they’re going to have to dissolve the Iron Throne to defeat the White Walkers … and then I think out of the ashes will come the tree people, they’ll grow. [I believe] characters like Bran, Hodor, and Tyrion [will survive] to bring peace back to the realm. But knowing Game of Thrones, it’ll be Littlefinger on the throne and there will be no help.”

Forget Miss Piggy, It’s Miss Margaery…I Mean Denise.

When it was announced that Kermit the Frog will have a new girlfriend on The Muppets named Denise, a lot of people noticed something interesting: she looked a lot like Natalie Dormer. One fan jokingly asked about the resemblance between The Muppets character and Dormer during the Q&A session, and while she could have taken offense, she actually laughed and told a very personal story.

Dormer divulged to the entire audience that, as a child, she was bullied for her distinctive nose. One day she was telling this story to showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, and Dormer decided she wanted Margaery to make a joke about her having a pig nose. So when Dormer found out that Denise was created, she stopped and wondered out loud, “Maybe I’m a bit responsible for that by bringing up the pig story.” She then laughed it off and just remarked that there was a resemblance but wasn’t sure if it was intentional or not (side note: it totally was).

Favorite House

Each major character on Game of Thrones is divided up into different houses, and many fans debate on which one is the best. When asked which house they liked personally, it was almost unanimous.

“Stark without a doubt!” declared Dormer.

Castle-Hughes, who plays Obara from Dorne, had an even more personal story.

“For the longest time my Twitter handle was KeishaStark,” laughed Castle-Hughes. “I had to change it when I got my part because it would confuse fans.

To his credit, Jones stayed dedicated to his fictional persona.

“I’m a Tyrell through and through!” exclaimed Jones.

Game of Thrones Season 6 is currently filming and will return Spring 2016.
