44. The Hills Have Eyes
– 1977/2004
The Trailer Scene
Wes Craven is the master of horror for a reason; he knows how to get under your skin and experience fear. In his original masterpiece, 1977’s The Hills Have Eyes, millions of people were horrified at the attack on the family trailer, shrieking and praying for the best. It’s a scene that still makes you uncomfortable to this day. In 2004, the film was remade and the scene was expanded upon, including more rape and a very realistic gun wound to the mother’s head. Not surprisingly, Craven also produced this, taking his already scary work and making it even harder to watch.
