Last week, we were promised that this episode of Scream Queens would be the deadliest. Episode. Yet. And we sort of got that. What we definitely got was a KKT slumber party, filled with games like spin the bottle, truth or dare and even a panty raid. Again, Queens brings the comedy and even ups the gore level, really pushing that TV-MA rating. Let’s jump in!

We start off where last week left off as the KKT girls are voting for the new House President. It ends in a tie, Chanel has a major freak out but, alas, it was a ruse. She actually voted for Zayday (which means she would have actually won, had she voted for herself) because she doesn’t want to be President in a time of crisis. This actually works because Roberts, as usual, plays Chanel so calculating and vicious, wanting what’s best for her while also throwing out some choice insults at Chanel #5.

Speaking of Zayday, I can’t stand her. Maybe it’s the character or the way Palmer portrays her but she is just so unlikable and that’s a horrible thing. She’s supposed to be the likable one, arm in arm with Grace as our heroes but if your audience hates everything you say and do, it’s poor. I was actually hoping she would have died two episodes ago but hey, we can’t always get what we want.

Things really hit the fan with the Red Devil. He locks the sisters in the house with Chanel’s Panic Room security protocol yet it’s somehow easy enough for the Dicky Dollar Scholars to break into. I can’t fault this too much because it’s great to see Chad Radwell (yes, I will always call him by his full name) back in the forefront. Every time he is on screen, the scene gets lifted with a aura of hilarity and stupidity. His scene with the Candle Vlogger about the exact rules of Truth or Dare is absolutely incredible. Chad and Chanel patch things up as well and I for one, am glad. This is the most dysfunctional relationship I’ve ever seen and I absolutely love it. Maybe that says more about me than it does about them?

Things also heat up between Chanel #3 and Sam, the predatory lesbian. A few weeks back we learned that Charles Manson was #3’s father and that comes back during the truth or dare game courtesy of Sam’s blabbing. She’s forced to spend a couple minutes in the basement and is quickly dispatched by the Red Devil. Again, hilarity ensues as the Devil reveals himself to her and all she can say is, “I knew it was you”, before the Devil dispatches her like the girl at the beginning of Black Christmas.

Week after week Scream Queens is putting out great and entertaining television. I haven’t laughed this hard while watching a show since the first few episodes of How I Met Your Mother. This episode pushed the limits of violence on prime time television with its deaths and crude language. Somehow we didn’t get a follow up to Gigi and the Red Devil (though that’s apparently coming next week) and Dean Munsch was, again, criminally under utilized. No Peter or Officer Denise also bummed me out but I loved it, as usual. With plenty of death, sex and comedy, this could, somehow, be the next great slasher.

In Memoriam:

Caulfield (The Armless Man)

Sam (Predatory Lesbian)

Roger

Seven Minutes in Hell Final Score: 8.5/10
