Pop-Break Predictions: WWE TLC

WWE TLC 2015

I am a little confused. Tonight is TLC, yet on front page of WWE.com is a photo of John Cena elbowdropping Sabu.

OK.

Tonight’s Tables, Ladders, and Chairs PPV is an intriguing one. We have all three stipulations, plus the big TLC match itself. Thankfully, there are no “Stairs” matches this year.

Ladder Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships: The New Day defend against the Lucha Dragons and the Usos. I am picking the New Day. While the Dragons are being heavily pushed and the sudden reappearance of the Usos might suggest a title change, the New Day is on fire and a loss, while would not impact their momentum, does not seem to be the right course of action. Expect a ton of exciting crazy, and I firmly believe Big E. will gyrate on top of the ladder.

Is it a title bout? I would think the United States Championship will be on the line when Jack Swagger challenges Alberto del Rio in a Chairs Match. This one goes to Del Rio, because I have no idea. I really don’t. This feud makes no sense, Swagger makes no sense, Del Rio makes no sense, Zeb Colter is the only rational reason here.

Intercontinental Championship: Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens

No stipulation it seems, however does not make a prediction any easier. I am completely stumped. Ambrose has been on a roll, and his challenge to the WWE Championship seems like a distant memory. Shame. I could see Ambrose winning, then Owens take it back in a week or two on RAW. I am putting it on Ambrose to win, while Owens will attempt to pull out the powerbomb which would allow JBL will remind us no less than a dozen times Owens is a “Prize Fighter” and to shout “BALLGAME!” but tonight will not be the night.

Ryback vs. Rusev:

Is this the pre-show match? It better be. Because no one cares. Rusev needs a win, but I’d rather see Ryback get the victory here, only because he has this weird ability to get the crowd pumped up (take notes Mojo Rawley), while Rusev puts people to sleep.

Divas Championship: Paige vs. Charlotte

This angle is becoming interesting. The on-air crew want to “question” Charlotte and her behavior, yet also being put over as being daddy’s little girl to be the dirtiest player in the game. Well, this routine is part of why Ric Flair is so beloved, so why should the on-air crew take a dump on it? Don’t push the heel/face factor, let the crowd decide. The other issue is Paige is MASSIVELY over, so WWE feels they can’t have a face vs. face situation, so Charlotte has to become heel material. If this is the case, Charlotte will likely retain in order to boost Paige with the crowd, then ultimately take the championship at the next major event.

What should be a fun and likely great match to watch, will be Team ECW vs. The Wyatt Family in a Survivor Series-style Tables Elimination Match. This has to be good. Whenever you get a feud where The Wyatts suddenly show up unexpectedly, inevitable crowd chants of “This is Awesome” follow. In this case, with the formation of Team ECW, we may also get “Holy Shit” chants. This, will be expected. There will be a 3D. There will be a Gore. We will see multiple Dreamer-DDT’s and lot of big moves from the Wyatts. I am hesitant to pull the trigger, but I will, and put Team ECW in the win column tonight. The Wyatts do not need wins or losses. They dominate, they scare, they have a presence no matter what. The Dudleys already had a few setbacks since their return, so a win would be nice here.

WWE Championship Match – Tables, Ladders, Chairs – Roman Reigns vs. Sheamus

Reigns is not winning. Not going to happen… Yet. Unless WWE Creative opts to just scrap the whole League of Nations stable and send Sheamus back to mid-card. Not going to happen… Yet. Barrett and Rusev are jobber-level, and the only thing keeping Alberto del Rio above water is the United States Championship. Now, if they added Kevin Owens to the stable, I could take it more seriously. Sheamus is going to win, and I anticipate lots of interference and broken bodies.
