Pre-Trailer Thoughts: I watched the first film of this series, Divergent, via redbox a year or so ago. I pretty much hated it. I don’t know what the appeal for these films are, but they continue to crank out sequels so I guess there’s an appreciative audience somewhere. -LJF

Pre-Trailer Thoughts
: I haven’t seen the first two movies in this series, and I’ve really never felt the need to actively sit down and watch them. Greenlit solely due to the success of the Hunger Games films, the Divergent series always seemed like a poor man’s version of that series. Without any interest or investment in any of these films, this trailer will have to do a lot to impress me. – JTM

Rate The Trailer: 1 out of 5. I’m not sure why it bugs me so much, but showing clips from the previous movies in this trailer just gets under my skin. Do we really need that much of a recap? If you watched the movies or read the books, or both, you should be caught up to speed. Are they trying to bring new viewers in? If so, it’s not working. I cannot deny there’s talent in the cast here, but I feel like they are all wasting their time. In any case, this movie looks dull and uninteresting. -LJF

Rate the Trailer: 1 out of 5. This trailer was clearly made solely for people who are already fans of the series, because there was no attempt made to try and bring in new fans to the films. A hodgepodge of scenes, lingo, and characters taken out of context and thus derived of any and all meaning to newcomers. Every word spoken is a cliche, and every action scene looks like it has been done better elsewhere. I’d really like to ask someone who is already a fan of the series if this trailer was exciting to them, as an outsider like me sees this as just another YA lit adaptation that will be forgotten soon after they finish making the movies. –JTM

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? No Thanks. I have had no interest in these movies since I gave Divergent a try and hated it, so count me out. -LJF

Theater, Rent, Undecided, No Thanks?
No Thanks. This did not inspire me to go back and watch the first two movies, and in fact made me want to see them even less. -JTM
