The Best Comic Books of 2015

Groot
By Jeff Loveness and Brian Kesinger

Groot

The idea of a Groot series seemed very dubious. How was Marvel going to publish an on-going comic book about a character that can only say one phrase? For a series that seemed very one-note on the outside, each issue was packed with jokes and with heart. Readers got to laugh at all the mis-communications that Groot experienced, but they also got to emphasize and have they hearts broken with his by empathizing with his isolation.

The series also introduced Mantron into the Marvel. The Mantron was a robot who ran on floppy disks and is the funniest Marvel character that you have never heard of.
