I’m very nervous for this film. It wouldn’t surprise me if this was your surprise flop of the summer. There’s not a lot of good will for the Enterprise crew right now. While I love the reinvigorated franchise, Star Trek Into Darkness pissed Trekkies off to no end. Combine that with the crap trailer reaction, and people are coming in hot. While it should stay off the flop path, there’s no doubt it’s going to make significantly less than the previous two films. This next trailer is critical, and I’d advise the marketing team to stay away from Beastie Boys songs.
What It Has Going For It: Let’s be honest, it’s still Star Trek.
What It Has Going Against It: Everyone has a bad taste in their mouth from the last movie, and recent trailer.
