With Spider-Man now being part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a lot of fans wondered if members of The Avengers (or whatever they will call themselves after Civil War) would start showing up in solo movies with the webhead being the titular character. As of today, news broke that Robert Downey Jr., aka Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, has signed on to be part of Spider-Man: Homecoming, due in theaters in 2017.

It is not known yet how Stark will play into the events happening in Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) next cinematic adventure, but what is certain is that any aftermath from Captain America: Civil War will definitely be a part of it. On that note, will Steve Rogers show up too?

We will know soon enough. However, Downey’s addition means that the Sony/Marvel relationship is working out well for both parties, and that die hard fans of Spider-Man are finally getting to have fun watching Parker interact with the MCU big guns. 2017 can’t come soon enough

Until then, we all have Captain America: Civil War to look forward to. The first MCU appearance of Spider-Man is nearly here!!
