Pre-Trailer Thoughts: The trailer for Swiss Army Man was brought to my attention by fellow Pop-Break staff member Al Mannarino. If not for him, I never would have know about the movie at all. I’m glad he mentioned it to me, but we will get to that in a little bit. -LJF

Pre-Trailer Thoughts: Swiss Army Man got a mixed reaction when it premiered at Sundance a few months ago, with some in the audience walking out of the theater and others delighted by it’s bizarre story. I admittedly know very little about the actual premise of the film, except it stars Daniel Radcliffe as a corpse that is constantly farting. Going off that alone I’m already anticipating what the trailer will hold. – JTM

Rate the Trailer: 4 out 5. There’s something to be said about bizarre originality and Swiss Army Man has that written all over it. It seems that the directors are trying something new here that will probably not find a large audience and that’s a shame, because it seems to be that this will be a very unique film, and I could see it gaining cult classic status in later years. In an overall sense of critiquing the trailer, I can honestly say that I was captivated by all the shenanigans even though they are extremely out there. In any case, Swiss Army Man looks different, and in a summer of sequels, reboots, comic book movies, and movies based on other materials, I can fully appreciate that. -LJF

Rate the Trailer: 4 out of 5. I have to give the film props for truly being a completely original piece of work. The strange premise of a suicidal man stuck on a deserted island who finds a dead body that is seemingly able to help solve all his problems is both wonderfully imaginative and completely insane. Dano and Radcliffe are excellent actors, especially dealing with offbeat subject matter like this. I’m happy Radcliffe continues to branch out from his work on Harry Potter and constantly challenges himself with increasingly complex roles. -JTM

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent Despite the fact that Swiss Army Man has intrigued me with a fascinating trailer, I predict that the film will be in limited release when it comes out based on its independent feel. That being said, I will definitely support this film on home video when it hits Redbox. –LJF

Theater, Rent, Undecided, No Thanks? Rent. I don’t think this will even be playing at any movie theater near me, but I would definitely stream it based on sheer curiosity. – JTM
