Kevin Feige and his Doctor Strange crew began their Comic-Con panel in style with Benedict Cumberbatch magically “appearing” on stage. There’s no question they’ve got plenty of hotly anticipated films on the horizon, but first on the docket is Doctor Strange. The MCU is no stranger (get it?) to taking risks with low level characters, including Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man. Doctor Strange is another character off the risk-taking rack, but with the massive success of all their properties, it seems they can do no wrong at this point.
Joining in the Doctor Strange panel was director Scott Derrickson, who certainly plans to add an element of horror to the MCU, as his background includes such scary hits as Sinister (2012) and The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005). Members of the cast on stage included: Tilda Swinton (Ancient One), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Mordo), Mads Mikkelsen (Kaecilius), Rachel McAdams (Christine Palmer) and Benedict Wong (Wong).
We got some good insight into the film, but MCU fans practically went into convulsions when the new trailer hit. We got more inside the head of Doctor Stephen Strange, as well as many of the supporting players, including the Ancient One. We also got a lot of looks at Mikkelsen’s villain. Prepare to have your mind blown by the Inception-like world with this new trailer!
Doctor Strange takes his massive cloak into theaters on November 4th, 2016!
