The Worst Movie of the Fall Will Be: Masterminds

maserminds

Release Date: October 7th

Cast: Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Jason Sudeikis, Leslie Jones

Director: Jered Hess (Nacho Libre, Napoleon Dynamite)

There were no other options.  This was in my Summer Preview 2015 article as a potential stink bomb.  Yeah.  It’s been a long time coming for this movie.  Let’s talk about the director – Jered Hess.  Yes, he directed Napoleon Dynamite, which is one of my “Rage Button” movies.  Ugh.  He also directed a film called Gentlemen Broncos in 2009, which to be fair, I have not seen.  It’s supposed to be utterly atrocious.  Speaking of atrocious, just watch the trailer.  It will explain everything you need to know about why I picked this to be my Worst Movie of the Fall.  And just as an added bonus, it reunites three of the four Ghostbusters from earlier this summer: Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.  Yup.  Another awful comedy where they can be wasted.  Yay.

  1. Wow! You sound like someone who’s so educated on Fantastic Beasts!

If you were a Harry Potter fan you at least do your fucking research and find out that the beasts are not the focus of the film! I know you’d hoping for an underwhelming box office, but it’s fandangos most anticipated fall film! Stop trying to force your douchey negativity on all of us.

This films is about life in Wizarding America, no about beasts. You don’t care about it because you’re a lazy ignorant asshole who takes everything at face value. You seriously think JK Rowling would give us a story just about creatures? It’s a trilogy, you fuckin’ idiot. And it’s had massively amazing test screening reviews. Please stop writing.
