Pre-Trailer Thoughts: It felt like making a Wonder Woman movie took forever. That’s a sad statement to make, considering that there needs to be more females in the superhero spotlight. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe brought to us Black Widow and Scarlet Witch, they still didn’t have the presence of the main guys who were, well, guys. It seems that the planets have aligned and we are now finally getting the Amazonian Princess in her first feature film. However, she has her work cut out for her as she has to prove that the DCU is not a sad mess after the critically panned Batman v. Superman and Suicide Squad. Is Wonder Woman up to the challenge? -LJF

Pre-Trailer Thoughts: The DC Extended Universe has continually struck out with critics, yet strong (if relatively disappointing) box office has kept the film series afloat. Wonder Woman will be yet another attempt for Warner Brothers to try and deliver a film that pleases both audiences and critics. My personal distaste for the way WB has handled all of these movies makes me more skeptical than most that they’ll be able to pull this off, but stranger things have happened. – JTM

Rate the Trailer: 4 out of 5. Yes, it may be another origin story but at least it feels somewhat different, right? Well, in any case, the tone feels just right, there’s a good amount of color, Gal Gadot looks bad ass, and the action looks awesome. Plus, that Wonder Woman theme music is amazing. Yeah, I may be blinded by all the cool looking stuff here, but as for now, I’m interested. -LJF

Rate the Trailer: 3 out of 5. Ending this trailer with Wonder Woman‘s music cue from Batman v. Superman is almost unfair, as that score would be enough to get anybody excited about anything. The choice to make this a World War 1 period piece already sets it apart from the other films in the DCEU, yet it manages to still keep the same visual aesthetic as the other films. One aspect of these films that will likely always be a detriment to me is Gal Gadot herself, as I’ve never bought her as a powerful ageless warrior. I’m at least happy that Chris Pine looks to be having fun as her love interest Steve Trevor. I thought the Wonder Woman armor might look silly next to all the 1910s era military outfits, but they’ve managed to blend her looks to fit the time period perfectly. – JTM

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Theater. I will give Wonder Woman my money. It’s a superhero film not focusing on characters we’ve seen time and time again, and I really think that will bring something fresh to the table. Let’s just hope it delivers. Otherwise the DCU is in trouble. -LJF

Theater, Rent, Undecided, No Thanks?
Undecided. Despite enjoying the trailer my past experiences with DC’s films have me erring on the side of caution with this one. I’m going to wait until the reviews are in before I make my decision. – JTM
