Woody Harrelson Joins Cast of Han Solo Prequel

With Rogue One wrapping up in the box offices, the impending Han Solo prequel is groing in cast and anticipation. Seasoned actor Woody Harrelson is now aboard the second of a series of “A Star Wars Story” films.

Like Rogue One, the film is set prior to the events of A New Hope and will shift focus from the main Skywalker lineage to everybody’s beloved space smuggler. It isn’t clear who Harrelson will be, but the project already has several big names attached such as Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian), Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo), and Emilia Clarke.

Famed for his roles in True Detective, The Hunger Games, Zombieland, and No Country For Old Men, prequel directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord aren’t hiding their enthusiasm in working with Harrelson.

“We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody,” says Lord and Miller. “His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”

The exact title of the Han Solo film is still to be announced but is set for release in 2018 with producers Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur, and Simon Emanuel.
