Star Wars Episode VIII Officially Gets a Name

The latest chapter of the Star Wars saga has officially been named.

It was announced this morning on the official Star Wars website that Episode VIII will be titled The Last Jedi.

The film, which will be released in December 15, 2017, will pick off where The Force Awakens ended — with Rey finding Luke Skywalker at the Jedi Temple.

We’re still hoping for the release of a trailer in the near future.

The Last Jedi was written and directed by Rian Johnson (Looper), and will star returning cast members: Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita N’yongo, Oscar Isaac, and the late Carrie Fisher. The film also stars new cast members Benicio del Toro, and Laura Dern.

The film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski.

STAR WARS Episode VIII: THE LAST JEDI is scheduled for release December 15, 2017.
