Tom Hardy Officially Cast As Venom

Things for Spider-Man may start to seem a bit Taboo, as Tom Hardy has officially been cast as Venom.

Sony Pictures officially announced Hardy will be portraying the Spider-Man baddie Eddie Brock, with a picture of Hardy wearing a Venom shirt.

Along with the casting news, director Ruben Fleischer (of Zombieland fame) will be directing the film, which is set for a October 5, 2018 release date.

Fan excitement for the stand alone film of the alien spidey villain has been around since the unmentionable appearance of Venom in Spier-Man 3, which once more never happened in the minds of true Spidey fans.

According to Comingsoon.net, “Venom will hail from Sony’s Marvel Universe of characters and will NOT be a spinoff of the current Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

production for the film is set to begin this fall, and in the meantime, wet your whistle with some Spider-Man: Homecoming, which is set to be released July 7th.
