Bambi 75th Anniversary Blu-ray Release – Should You Replace Your Old DVDs and Tapes?

Bambi 75th Anniversary Blu-ray Release

“Bambi” was released in 1942 during World War II and took over five years to make due to its exquisite hand-drawn artwork and attention to detail. Beloved by generations, “Bambi” holds the No. 3 spot on the American Film Institute’s “10 Top 10,” honoring the 10 greatest animated films of all time. The timeless tale features an adorable young deer named Bambi who explores the wonders and challenges of the woods with his playful pal Thumper, the lovable skunk Flower, and wise Friend Owl – and ultimately fulfills his destiny as prince of the forest.

I was a small child when I saw Bambi for the first time and, as many of you probably experienced yourselves, I was traumatized by the (can it be a spoiler if its 75 years later?) death of Bambi’s mother. Even now, almost 30 years later, I was still absolutely destroyed by it. If anything, this is the sign of a strong film that can evoke such strong emotions no matter your age. There is a reason Bambi is one ranked the 3rd greatest animated films of all time, ranking only behind two other amazing Disney animated features: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Pinocchio, most likely only because they were created first.

This HD blu-ray release is absolutely stunning. The colors and detail are more vibrant while you still get a bit of that original graininess that gives the film its 1940’s charm. Along with the improved quality, we are also gifted several new bonus features including:
