Jack Antonoff knows how to throw a party.

The third annual Shadow of the City Festival took place on Sunday September 10 at the legendary Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, NJ. The day was picture perfect for an outdoor festival, with blue skies, and just the right amount of warmth to keep the crowd hyped for a day long show.

Outside of the show itself, SOTC 2017 featured the now famed celebrity dunk tank which helped raise money for local charities. Antonoff, as well as members of his family, and Andrew McMahon all took part.

SOTC also featured food trucks, a specialty craft beer from Asbury Park Brewery (Shadow of the Citra), and a signature sandwich from the amazing Speakeatery located on Cookman Ave. in Asbury Park.

Pop Break’s Keeyahtay Lewis spent the day at the legendary venue and documented the entire event.

Neptune native, and Asbury Park’s favorite chanteuse Nicole Atkins and her band, The Cleanup Crew, performed cuts off her heralded new record, Goodnight, Rhonda Lee.

The California-based alt rock trio known as Tangerine who were a lot addition to the show, was a hit. The group features Marika and Miro Justad and their best friend Toby Kuhn.

AP’s favorite electro rock duo Brick+Mortar performed cuts off their new EP, and brought out their longtime onstage performer Richie Brown to provide for a wild audio visual experience.

Titus Andronicus brought their loud, uncompromising sound to SOTC, and melted the faces off of the AP crowd.

Khalid was one of the big draws for this show. Hot off his multiple VMAs a few weeks ago, the young performer wowed audiences.
