Pre-Trailer Thoughts: I was a big fan of The Lego Movie. In fact, I still am. I enjoyed The Lego Batman Movie, but I didn’t love it. Since these flicks are making big bucks and entertain kids and adults alike, there was no doubt another Lego movie would be in the cards. Bring forth The Lego Ninjago Movie, which is a popular property/cartoon. However, the cast of the movie is different from the cartoon, which is a bizarre choice. Oh well, in any case, here we are withh another Lego Movie. -LJF

Pre-Trailer Thoughts: I’m a bit surprised that this property is going to theaters and not straight to VOD. Ninjago is popular, but I wouldn’t say it’s LEGO’s biggest, and best. Obviously this is being done to capitalize on the money The Lego Movie, and Lego Batman made. Sadly, this trend is not going to end anytime soon. -BB

Rate the Trailer: 2 out of 5. The animation here looks great, as these movies always do, but I’m failing to really get anything fun out of this trailer. However, it may be clear that this movie isn’t for me, since I’m not a big Ninjago person to begin with, and/or maybe I’m starting to get tired of these Lego flicks already. Obviously what was done with The Lego Movie cannot be redone, so I think it’s more of the latter. -LJF

Rate the Trailer: 2.5 out of 5. There’s a couple of cute jokes in here, and the animation, as expected, is fantastic. But there’s nothing great about this trailer. The story isn’t as nearly enticing as the two previous Lego films, and I was never into the Ninjago series to really care. -BB

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent. No need to make a theater trip for this one. As a fan of the brand, I’ll support it in the comfort of my own home. -LJF

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? No Thanks. Unless my kid wants to see this, I have no desire to see this film. -BB

The Lego Ninjago Movie drops into theaters on September 22nd, 2017
