Trailer Tuesday: Safe House

logan j. fowler and bill bodkin look at the new Denzel Washington/Ryan Reynolds action flick …

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent.
Safe House looks intriguing. Starring Denzel Washington as a fugitive who gets locked up in the titular safe house and looked after by a CIA operative (Ryan Reynolds), the flick seems to include Reynolds and Washington teaming up or working together at some point. Washington, an actor who really could do no wrong, could bring out the best in Reynolds, who has suffered some box office depression with his recent films. Reynolds has surprised me with some of his roles, including his performance in Buried, and I actually want him to crawl out of the movie slump he’s been in, as I do like the actor, unlike some fan boys and some population of audiences. Aside from all that stuff, the movie looks to be action backed and may include some decent twists. Don’t think it’ll be theater stuff, but I’ll definitely be watching Safe House in my house when it hits the home video market.

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Theater.
Safe House looks awesome. First, whoever decided to score the trailer to Kanye and Jay-Z’s “No Church In The Wild” was a genius. The pulsing, menacing beats really create this insanely badass atmosphere for the film. Second, when it comes to action Denzel always delivers — even in the worst of movies. And Reynolds, in my opinion, is always good, despite the fact he’s been in some real duds. So I think the interaction between these two is going to be dynamite and this really shows in the trailer. Sign me up for opening day.
