Watching it? Yes. Despite the fact that Iron Man 3 split audiences severely on their thoughts about it, the Marvel Movie Universe is pretty much a strong dependable brand as of right now. Cue Joss Whedon (director of The Avengers, as well as cult hit TV shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly) to make the universe even bigger as tonight it hits prime time on ABC. Using Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) as a figure head, Whedon brings down the action to a lower level focusing on S.H.I.E.L.D. members and superheroes who aren’t like their big boy movie brethren (although I’m sure the former will get plenty of mention during the proceedings). The only thing I’m worried about mainly is how Coulson’s return is going to be explained. Otherwise, the fanboy in me is seriously pumped for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiere tonight. –LJF

Watching it? On DVR. I’m going to watch the show for sure but I’m not as excited as my Trailer Tuesday colleague about watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. There’s nothing about this show that has me that interested. Outside of Clark Gregg’s Agent Coulson (how is he alive?) no one in the cast stands out in this trailer. They all seem pretty cookie cutter. Also, the plot, at least from what we’ve seen in the trailer, is pretty vague, so there’s nothing really that has me invested in the show in that regards. What is bringing me to the table is Joss Whedon’s involvement. Even at his worst Joss Whedon is still better than most. So I go into this show with low expectations. –BB
