Last week on American Horror Story: Coven, Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) is now blind but can see a person’s past through touch, Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) and Misty (Lily Rabe) bring Madison (Emma Roberts) back to life but she remembers nothing of what happened, and Cordelia’s husband, Hank (Josh Hamilton) is in cahoots with Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett).

This week’s episode, entitled “The Dead,” is about just that. In many ways death is a theme in this episode from ghosts to relationships to murder.

I said last week that things were dragging because something big was about to happen. Not to toot my own horn or anything but I was right. A lot of crazy goes down this week.

Cordelia find out about Madison. Even more important is what she finds out from her.

Fiona (Jessica Lange) is dying of cancer but finds she is more alive in this new relationship with the ghost of The Axe Man (Danny Huston).

Madison and Kyle (Evan Peters) share a common trait in that they were both resurrected from the dead. Soon they share something else…..and then something else.

After a meeting with Cordelia, Zoe takes the investigation of Madison’s death into her own hands, taking charge in ways that you would never expect. She comes across a box with something priceless inside-the only thing that can help her solve the mystery.

Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe) realizes she doesn’t quite fit in with the white witches in the school. She has a special meeting with Marie Laveau but learns that in order to change sides, she will have to pay a large price.

The stand out star of the episode is certainly Zoe. She is discovering her powers go beyond murderous sex and she is doing it quickly. As her powers grow, her innocence sheds and she is starting to show traits of an arrogant Supreme.

Madame LaLaurie (Kathy Bates) is such a likable character despite all of the horrible things she did in the past. She is hilarious in this episode but we do see a bit more of her dark past so we can see how much she has grown.

I have an on again, off again relationship with Madison. I like her, then I hate her, then I like her again. She’s making me bipolar.

I saw this episode’s conclusion coming from a mile away. I actually have a witness to the fact that I called it during the first episode. Predictability aside, this is something that needed to happen to spark the fire in this war between voodoo and the witches. From here on out things are going to get messy and intense but I look forward to every second.
