After weeks of waiting, American Horror Story: Coven makes a return with the most intense episode of the season thus far.

“The Magical Delights of Stevie Nicks,” written by James Wong, sent me into a fierce bipolar episode of emotions. Between covering my mouth from shock and hysterically laughing at the back and forth between Nan (Jamie Brewer) and Madison (Emma Roberts), I finished the episode mentally exhausted with satisfaction.

Tonight, a certain black wearing songbird makes an appearance thanks to Fiona (Jessica Lange), who calls on her friend to bring out The Supreme in Misty Day (Lily Rabe). Her song performances are a little Glee-ish, but I can’t act too surprised since Ryan Murphy, the show’s creator, created Glee as well.

Madison believes everyone is wrong about Misty and challenges her in The Seven Wonders, which is some sort of test a witch must go through to prove they are the next Supreme. Nan thinks she could actually be the one.

We learn how Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett) has lived over 300 years and why Fiona does such horrible things without conscience. I won’t spoil anything but it involves a black Rob Zombie.

Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) figures out who her husband Hank (Josh Hamilton) really is and, in turn, who his family is. Armed with this new knowledge, Fiona and Marie prepare for war against the witch hunters.
Nan learns what happened to Luke (Alexander Dreymon) and confronts his mother, Joan (Patti LuPone) about her crimes.

Some people die. I won’t say who and I won’t say how, but people you like will be gone after tonight. There are only three episodes left. The war is coming and more people are going to die so prepare yourself to lose your favorites. Personally, I’m salivating Pavlovian-style over who the next Supreme is. I think Misty Day keeps being thrown at us because they are trying to disguise the fact that it really isn’t that simple. I can wait. After all, I have waited this long and will wait however long it takes as long as they continue to deliver like they do tonight.
