Pre-Trailer Thoughts: That Bible story is getting a massive Hollywood treatment that’ll finally put Evan Almighty in its place. –Logan J. Fowler | Aronofsky versus The Bible? Color me interested! –Bill Bodkin

Rate the Trailer (1-5): 3 out of 5. Ok, well basically this is a piece of the old testament that has a Game of Thrones flair to go along with it. The production value looks solid, the music swells at all the right moments, and there’s obviously elements that are not in the original tale to make it more gritty for the sake of emotion. I’m sure Bible purists may have issues but from what I see, I don’t mind the expansions. –LJF

3 out of 5. Noah has all the trappings of a really great epic. A big score, big speeches, big action sequences. It’s an epic, everything is super-sized. Yet as pretty as it looks and as grandiose as it feels, there’s something off here — where’s Darren Aronofsky in this trailer?

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent. Director Darren Aronofsky has proved to be a master of dramatic cinema, whether it be The Wrestler or Black Swan. He gives us characters to care about, pitting heroes against massive obstacles. Noah seems to be that kind of guy, so for Aronofsky to adapt the Bible epic, I can’t see a better dude to helm it. The cast is also great. However, I think I’ll save this for a religious rental, as my interest isn’t that high. –LJF

Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent. This is either going to be great or pedestrianly entertaining. As a fan of Aronofsky’s work, I worry that he’s going to get lost in this epic, that his signature style will be swallowed up by the seas of special effects and the grandeur of an epic. This is a fate The Coen Brothers suffered with True Grit and Tim Burton with Planet of the Apes — it happens. I think the cast is fantastic and that could easily set it apart from your run of the mill epic, but then again Russell Crowe has been extremely hit or miss with his past leading roles. –BB
